IBM Ireland - "I like it here!"

The "I like it here!" programme has made a significant contribution to the engagement and experience of IBM employees not only in their lives within the workplace but also in their participation in helping to improve the lives of others in our communities.

By enabling employees to build programmes that will support their skills and career, make time for fun, help their communities, celebrate diversity, support their well-being and reward and recognise top contributors, IBM has effected real positive influences on employee retention rate, engagement, participation and overall employee satisfaction and is ensuring that IBM is a a 'great place to work' not just for current employees but also for future employees.

Johnson & Johnson - Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing & Design (WiSTEM2D).

Johnson & Johnson have been championing women for over 130 years by providing tools, resources and opportunities to succeed at work and at home.

This year, Johnson & Johnson were delighted to announce the continuation of that commitment through the J&J WiSTEM2Dprogramme – a significant collaborative education programme that supports and encourages women to pursue educational opportunities in STEM2D

WiSTEM2D stands for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing and Design.  Although the world’s most innovative businesses and industries are founded on STEM education, only one quarter of people currently working in STEM related careers in Ireland are women. The J&J WiSTEM2D programme aims to bring about positive change in this area, and is underpinned by 10 partnerships with academic institutions.

In Ireland, its focus is on increasing the number of undergraduate women enrolling in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programmes at UL, and those graduating with STEM degrees.

Oracle - OPEN @ Oracle

OPEN was first established under the original name of LAMBDA in 1989, which was the international symbol for LGBT rights and also serving as an international covert name. It was then promoted to an affinity group in 2004. In 2014 it was promoted to Oracles first global employee resource group, and, as recognition of the diverse environment we work in, was rebranded Oracle Pride Employee Network (OPEN). A chapter of OPEN was then established in Oracle Dublin in October 2014, which has grown and gone from strength to strength.

During 2016, we hosted two internal awareness workshops with support from ShoutOut, a non-profit group that does workshops on LGBT awareness, and how to tackle homophobic and transphobic bullying.

In June, we also hosted the first Pride @ The Epi event in the Epicentre bar in Eastpoint Business Park. This was the first event of its kind in the Eastpoint Business Park and was free and open to all staff working in the business park.

Their wellbeing strategy is founded on three pillars – ‘ThinkWell’, ‘Live Well’ and ‘Feel Well’. Each pillar has a dedicated space in their onsite Gym and Wellness Centre with a variety of related activities taking place throughout the year.
