Shannon Chamber: Managing and Facilitating Dyslexia

May 25, 2017

One in 10 people in Ireland have Dyslexia.

Many notable names in society – Richard Branson, Brendan O’Carroll, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Jamie Oliver, Agatha Christie, W.B. Yeats – have/had Dyslexia.

This proves that whether a person is diagnosed as a ‘slow’ learner, reader or speller, the world can be their oyster if they are given the proper encouragement to believe in and develop their innate abilities.

This seminar will demonstrate how Dyslexia can and should be managed in both the classroom and the workplace and, Shannon CEO, Conor Flanagan from Atlantic Aviation Group, will share his story on how he overcame and managed Dylexia to attain his life goals.

Michelle Kinsella, Support and Development Officer for Adult Services, Dyslexia Association of Ireland

Her role involves raising awareness of dyslexia and delivering training and consultancy support to the further education/training and employment sector.  This is with the aim of identifying and removing barriers that dyslexic adults might face in education or the workplace; as well as optimising the environment and supports available to help the dyslexic adult achieve their full potential.
