Chambers Ireland’s President’s Awards for CSR were established in 2004 to recognise the work being carried out by small, medium and large Irish and multinational companies to improve the lives of their employees and to enhance the civic environment in which they operate.

The ceremony was sponsored by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, and the winners were presented with specially produced Waterford Crystal vases by Minister of State Noel Ahern T.D.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chambers Ireland President Robin O’Sullivan said, “my fellow judges and I were all struck by the richness and the diversity of efforts by the Irish business community—large indigenous, multinational and SME—to roll out thriving and unique CSR activities designed to contribute to the improvement of all of our lives in both the business context and in the wider environment in which we live.”

The seven-member judging panel consisted of:

From left: (Back Row) Tina Roche, Business in the Community; Mary Davis, Special Olympics Ireland; Colin McGookin, Waterford Crystal; Dr. Eleanor O’Higgins, UCD; (Front Row) Tony Crooks, Area Development Management; Robin O’Sullivan, Chambers Ireland President; Máirtín MacAodha, Chambers Ireland CSR Policy Council Chair
