BT Ireland: BT, Inspiring Young Minds

Now in its 46th year, the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (BTYS&TE) is much more than a competition; it is an unforgettable experience of a lifetime for the students who take part. The exhibition itself is the final stage in the competition which is open to all second level students from Ireland, North and South. As well as the 500 student projects on display, there are a further four exhibition halls filled with science and technology based exhibits and entertainment, making it a thrilling event for those who enter and for general visitors too. Entries have increased steadily every year from 669 entries in 2001 to the record breaking 1616 this year, an increase of 240%. BT’s project is based on the idea that it is essential to inspire students to get involved in all aspects of science and technology, and thereby help them build the skills that they will need for their future careers.
