Supporting Irish Companies to trade globally
The European Commission reports that over the next ten to fifteen years, 90% of world demand will be generated outside Europe. It is essential for future trade that Ireland remains in the heart of Europe and the global economy. What this means in practice is that we must continue to push for an ambitious SME friendly trade deal with the US and with Canada. In the event of a UK withdrawal from the EU, Irish SMEs will need to find new markets for their products.
We must also continue to support the trade agenda of the EU as it seeks to build new trade relationships with Japan, with South East Asia, and with Australia and New Zealand.
