This project is about the development of an exciting new brand for County Cavan entitled ‘This is Cavan!’ the brand is the ‘promise’ that is experienced by our audiences. This is Cavan! – is more than a logo. It represents the collection of positive ideas about Cavan County, that resides in peoples’ hearts and minds. The success of hosting three out of this world All –Ireland Fleadhannas made Cavan realise that they could complete on an international stage. However, Cavan needed something to bring it all together. After 18 months, now they have it. Cavan County Council’s new brand makes a promise – Cavan always surprises!
Local Authority Name: Ennis Town Council
Project Name: Purple Flag Designation Accreditation, Ennis, Co. Clare
In 2012, on the recommendation of the Municipal Policy Committee, Ennis Town Council, in conjunction with the Gardai, and the business community and Promote Ennis made a formal application for the designation of a specific part of Ennis with Purple Flag status.
This designation is an accreditation system for town centre management, which combines a unique offering to customers that embraces aspects of urban culture, entertainment, retail, tourism and restaurants etc. Under this Accreditation there is a particular focus on maximising the development of the night-time economy in the town centre. Central to this development is the creation of a safe and secure environment for customers. Under the guidance of a steering committee which includes all the relevant stakeholders an action plan is being implemented which will see the enhanced and further development, of a quality night time and evening economy in Ennis by the end of 2013.

Project Name: Made in Galway
The Made in Galway initiative promotes the range and quality of produce that is Made in Galway and encourages consumers to purchase from these producers in order to generate and sustain employment in the region. It offers a marketing avenue for producers based in Galway at no cost and enables them to engage in a level of online marketing that they would not normally be able to undertake working on their own. By organizing a collective marketing approach, it is possible to engage with a greater range of consumers. The initiative involves online marketing, demonstration at trade events/expos, tourism promotion, presence at festivals and events. The initiative is focused on having local producers to the fore, showcasing their talent and promoting products that are made in Galway. The objective of this initiative is to generate more sales for local producers in order to sustain/create employment in the Galway region. It also highlights the attractiveness of the Galway region as a food and craft tourism destination.
