2015 Awards

The 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards took place on Thursday 3rd September in the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. The overall winner of the CSR Awards 2015 was Ulster Bank.

Excellence in CSR Communication
Electric Ireland for Darkness into Light. Darkness into Light is the Pieta House flagship fundraising and awareness event which occurs every May. It is not just a great fundraising event; it looks to drive conversations around the issues of suicide and also represents community, hope and solidarity. In 2013 Electric Ireland made Darkness into Light their main CSR initiative.

Excellence in Community – Partnership with Charity – LIC – Sponsored by JustGiving
Bewley’s  for Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning. For 22 years, Bewley’s has supported Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of local hospice care. Their unwavering support of the Hospice movement has been a core element of the company’s CSR strategy.
Excellence in Community – Partnership with Charity – MNC – Sponsored by JustGiving
Microsoft  for Youth2Work. Responding to the problem of youth unemployment Youth2work provides free access to training for unemployed youth aged 16-26. Following these courses the objective is to ensure the youth secure full time employment. 

Excellence in Community – Community Programme – LIC
Dublin Port Company for Early Learning Initiative. DPC partnered with the National College of Ireland to support their Early Learning Initiative and in particular their Parent Child Home Programme. This programme promotes learning from an early age and engages with families to help parents to develop the skills they needs to become their children’s first and most important teacher. 

Excellence in Community – Community Programme – MNC
Genzyme for Partnership with Project Treo Port Láirge to help deliver a series of training prorammes designed to divert at risk young people from repeat offending behaviour

Excellence in Community – Volunteering – LIC
Ulster Bank for MoneySense for Schools. Ulster Bank’s flagship skills-based volunteering programme trains staff to help young people learn about money, banking, borrowing, saving and starting a business. 

Excellence in Community – Volunteering – MNC
Intel Ireland for Intel Involved. Intel employees have a long tradition of community engagement and 2014 was no different to previous years with 58, 680 volunteer hours being recorded by employees in Ireland. 

Excellence in Environment – LIC – Sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency
Cork University Hospital for Achieving a Sustainable Environment at Cork University Hospital. Cork University Hospital Campus is the first healthcare facility in the world to be awarded a Green Flag by An Taisce and the Foundation for Environmental Education for its environmental achievements. 

Excellence in Environment – MNC– Sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency
Astellas Ireland Co., Ltd. (Kerry Plant) for “Changing tomorrow” – Our journey to Sustainability. Astellas endeavours to come up with new and innovative ways to reduce its impact, and also add value to its business and community. “Changing tomorrow” – Our journey to Sustainability is the mantra that Astellas lives by in every aspect of its work. 
Excellence in International CSR
IBM Ireland for IBM Corporate Service Corps Program. The Corporate Service Corps helps to provide IBMers with high quality leadership while delivering high quality problem solving for communities and organisations in emerging markets. The program sends groups of 10-15 individuals from different countries with a range of skills to an emerging market for four week community-based assignments. 

Excellence in Marketplace
Abbott Ireland for “Essential Elements of Nutrition Care Programme.” This is a fulyl comprehensive bespoke programme specifically designed to equip Healthcare Professionals, care staff and catering staff with the tools and resources to provide an optimum nutritional care for residents in the Care Home setting. 

Excellence in CSR by an SME
DHR Communications – Working with and for The Liberties. DHR draws on their experience in media relations, political communications and stakeholder engagement – and knowledge of Dublin 8 – to promote a better iamge of The Liberties and work with local people to ensure the community achieves its full potential. 

Excellence in Workplace – LIC
ESB for Positive Mental & Physical Health Promotion among ESB Staff.  Positive mental health promotion among staff is a key priority for the health and wellbeing team within ESB. They introduced new elements to its range of supports for staff concerned about personal mental health issues or about issues with friends and colleagues – Wellbeing Website, Wellbeing Champions, Positive Mental Health and Resilience for teams and individuals and Wellbeing Calendar. 

Excellence in Workplace – MNC
PayPal for Live Well Programme. The Live Well Programme ensures that employees have the opportunity to live a healthy, active life at work as well as at home.
