Education Key to Ireland’s Recovery

Chambers Ireland has today (22/11/12) welcomed the announcement of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning at Third Level.

Speaking this afternoon, Ian Talbot, Chambers Ireland Chief Executive said “Education is critical to our economic recovery and future growth. While unemployment remains high, there are a number of positions in this country that cannot be filled due to a major skills gap in certain areas. Reform of the education system is vital to ensure that our Higher Education Institutions meet the requirements of a modern, dynamic economy and give students the best chance to gain meaningful employment when they leave education.”

“It is important that there is meaningful engagement between the Forum and business organisations to strengthen the relationship between the education sector and the economy,” he concluded.
