Gort to Tuam Motorway Major Boost for West

Chambers Ireland has today (01/05/14) welcomed the signing of contracts for the M17/M18 Gort to Tuam PPP Scheme as the final piece of the jigsaw linking Limerick, Shannon and Ennis  to Galway through a top quality road network.

Speaking this morning, Chambers Ireland Chief Executive Ian Talbot said “Chambers Ireland have consistently called for the completion of this piece of the road infrastructure seeing it as a vital piece of connectivity linking the area as a whole and making it a more attractive place in which to live and work. The fact that these major towns will be more easily accessible to one another will create a greater incentive for more businesses to invest in the area.” 

“Another benefit this motorway opens up is the access to a greater population number who will be living within easy driving distance of Shannon Airport. This has the potential to increase the volume of passengers using the airport which can contribute to the rejuvenation and development of services to and from Shannon in the future while also supporting tourism,” he concluded.
