Now Is Not the Time to be Complacent

Commenting on the release of the Fiscal Monitor today (02 August 2017), Ian Talbot, Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland said, “While tax revenue is performing strongly, with income tax slightly below profile, now is not the time to be complacent. Budget 2018 is an opportunity for Government to invest any surplus revenue in economic and social  infrastructure to drive growth, improve the quality of life for citizens and to address the challenges that threaten to undermine economic competitiveness.”

“Chambers Ireland’s Pre-Budget Submission calls for investment in urgently needed transport, broadband, water and energy infrastructure projects. Businesses across the country also want to see investment and measures to address the housing shortage and a long-term commitment to continue to increase investment in childcare.”
