Sustainable Business Impact Awards 2021 shortlist announced

Chambers Ireland has today (1 July 2021) published the shortlist for the 2021 Sustainable Business Impact Awards.

The awards are sponsored by BAM Ireland and highlight the impactful and innovative ways businesses engage with the UN Sustainable Development Goals in their communitivmes.

In total, 83 projects have been shortlisted across fourteen award categories. The winners will be announced at an online awards ceremony on September 16.

President of Chambers Ireland, Mags Brennan said:

“In recent years, employees and wider society have come to expect more engagement by business on key issues that affect us all. With that comes the opportunity to demonstrate initiative and lead by example. Through this leadership, strong foundations are built and our collective resilience is strengthened.

“The businesses shortlisted today have faced a year full of disruption and uncertainty and have still managed to deliver on their continued commitment to sustainable practices. This has been to the benefit of their community, the climate and their staff. It is a proud moment for us to show the world just how impactful business can be even in such testing times.”

Chief Executive at BAM Ireland, Theo Cullinane said:

“The importance of sustainability runs deep at BAM and we are continuously impressed by with the progressive sustainable initiatives showcased at these awards each year.

Our long-term sustainability ambition is to be a business that has an overall positive impact on society and the environment by 2050. As a long-term partner, it has been exciting to see sustainable philosophy become an increasingly important strategic focus of companies in Ireland. The business community has shown how responsive it can be and we are proud to continue to support these awards and highlight the great examples of sustainable practice it provides.

We would like to congratulate all of the companies shortlisted for the Sustainable Business Impact Awards today. To come this far demonstrates the significance of your work and the value of your leadership. It will inspire others to follow you and that is a major achievement in itself.”

The Sustainable Business Impact Awards showcase best practice in sustainable development and social responsibility undertaken by companies of all sizes across Ireland. The UN Sustainable Development Goals are at the heart of these Awards, celebrating sustainable business practices and championing Chambers Ireland’s alignment with the Goals.
